By accessing or using the Ring Book mobile application ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Ring Book is a voice journaling application that:
- Places automated daily phone calls to remind you to journal
- Records your voice entries
- Transcribes audio to text using AI
- Provides tools to edit, organize, and reflect on your journal entries
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
You must provide a valid phone number to create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
3.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ring Book. Users under 18 require parental consent.
4. Phone Call Service
4.1 Automated Calls
By using Ring Book, you explicitly consent to receive automated phone calls at the times you schedule. You can:
- Set your preferred call schedule in the app
- Disable calls at any time in Settings
- Change your scheduled call times
4.2 Phone Charges
Standard voice/data charges from your mobile carrier may apply when receiving calls or using the app.
5. Subscription Terms
5.1 Free Trial
New users receive a 7-day free trial of premium features. After the trial:
- Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled
- You will be charged the subscription price
- Cancel anytime during the trial to avoid charges
5.2 Subscription Plans
Ring Book offers:
- Monthly Plan: $4.99/month, auto-renews monthly
- Annual Plan: $39.99/year, auto-renews yearly
- Lifetime Plan: $99.99 one-time purchase for permanent access
5.3 Billing
- All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the renewal date
- Manage subscriptions through your App Store/Play Store account settings
5.4 Refunds
Refunds are subject to Apple App Store or Google Play Store policies. We do not process refunds directly. Contact Apple/Google support for refund requests.
6. User Content
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all voice recordings and journal entries you create ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a license to:
- Store and process Your Content to provide the Service
- Transcribe your voice recordings
- Back up Your Content for security purposes
6.2 Content Restrictions
You agree NOT to use Ring Book to create or store content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, or harassing
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains malware or malicious code
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
7. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without authorization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use automated systems to access the Service
- Share your account with others
9. Intellectual Property
Ring Book and all related trademarks, logos, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not use our intellectual property without written permission.
10. Third-Party Services
Ring Book integrates with third-party services (Twilio, AssemblyAI, etc.). We are not responsible for their actions or policies. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- 100% accurate transcriptions
- Successful delivery of all scheduled calls
- Prevention of data loss
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the last 12 months
- We are not liable for third-party service failures
13. Termination
13.1 By You
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.
13.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Misuse the Service
13.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to the Service ends immediately
- Your data will be deleted within 30 days
- No refunds for remaining subscription periods
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via:
- In-app notification
- Email to your registered phone number
- Updated "Last updated" date on this page
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
